podcasts for female entrepreneurs with headphones and laptop on the desk

Podcasts are a multi-tasking female entrepreneur’s dream!

You can listen to podcasts to keep your skills up to date or learn something new while doing mundane tasks like cooking, cleaning, driving and grocery shopping.

“you are what you listen to.

Unknown

I listen to a LOT of podcasts.

What I learned from listening to hundreds of hours of podcasts as a female entrepreneur is that there are many good podcasts and unfortunately, there are even more bad podcasts that will be a waste of your time.

After listening to hundreds of hours of podcasts, the following is a list of the top ten best podcasts for female entrepreneurs to help you build, scale and grow your business.

1. Online Marketing Made Easy

Host: Amy Porterfield

Amy Porterfield specializes in digital course creation and email list building. She is known for her step-by-step style and loves a list. Podcast episodes are polished, straight to the point with no fluff and and she believes in serving more than selling.

Amy has spent over a decade building a multiple seven figure business and is a thought leader in the industry. If you want to build a digital course, Amy is your guru.

Most episodes are solo shows, however she occasionally has a guest, which is usually one of her fellow entrepreneur friends and/or mentors such as Michael Hyatt, Stu McLaren, Rachel Hollis, Neil Patel and Marie Forleo.

Amy is vulnerable about her issues with her weight and being on camera and open about it taking years to build her business to where it is today. Although her weight has nothing to do with the main topics of the podcast, hearing her be vulnerable and open up about her struggles makes her likable and relatable.

The Online Marketing Made Easy podcast was the first podcast I binged and subscribed to after deciding to start on online business and I (not so) secretly want to be part of Amy’s group of female entrepreneur friends who go on trips to places like Blackberry Farm.

2. The Goal Digger Podcast

Host: Jenna Kutcher

The Goal Digger podcast is about all things online marketing, including social media, content creation, blogging, email list building, launching, etc. Jenna also includes some general entrepreneurship and business topics as well as mindset issues that might be holding you back.

Jenna escaped corporate America and bought a $300 camera on Craig’s List to start a photography business. Now she runs a multiple seven figure online business teaching women how to build their own businesses.

The format of the The Goal Digger podcast has been going through a transformation lately. Previously, Jenna did mostly solo shows with just a sprinkling of interviews. Now there are more interviews and a series where one of her employees (Kylie) interviews Jenna about various topics.

Jenna is well connected in the entrepreneurship world and has lots of successful friends in the business who make for great guests. Previous guests have included Dean Graziosi, Brendon Burchard, Ed Mylett, Tony Robbins and Amy Porterfield.

“When Women Support Women, Magical Things Happen”

Jenna Kutcher

Listeners also get a view into her personal life as she shares insights about her family and her struggles with fertility and body image. Jenna’s blog post about being curvy while married to “Mr. Six Pack” went viral.

I admire Jenna for being a positive role model and showing her body in her underwear or a bathing suit or whatever she wants that isn’t the media’s idea of perfect.

Jenna has everything you need for some binge worthy content and she is also part of the Blackberry Farm super entrepreneur girlfriend group mentioned above.  Call me?

3. The Jasmine Star Show

Host: Jasmine Star

Jasmine Star will tell you she’s a photographer and business strategist. I call her the QUEEN of social media and building a brand. Look no further for advice on what you should be doing to build your brand and market your business on social media.

Jasmine’s story of growing up poor, being home schooled by immigrant parents and eating government cheese to attending UCLA law school on a full scholarship (then dropping out to stay home with her mom who had cancer) and then becoming an award winning wedding photographer and multi seven figure business strategist is so inspiring it could be made into a movie.

The podcast includes a variety of styles…solo shows, interviews, replays of keynote speeches, Facebook lives and Social Curator coaching calls.

Jasmine is inspiring, to the point and won’t sugar coat advice. She’s a motivating coach, not a cheerleader.

“People’s opinions of me don’t pay my bills”

Jasmine Star

One thing that Jasmine recommends and does herself is that she responds to every DM she receives. I can vouch for it. She doesn’t act like she’s above anybody, loves what she does, cares about her customers and it shows.

Jasmine is the go-to guru for all things social media and is often a guest on other podcasts.

4. The BossBabe Podcast

Hosts: Natalie Ellis & Danielle Canty

Natalie and Danielle are business besties that lead the BossBabe community of “unapologetically ambitious women”.

This podcast for female entrepreneurs covers all things entrepreneurship for women with any kind of business…online, coaching, services, physical products, etc. Wellness is also discussed as they believe health is key to high performance.

The format includes both solo episodes and interviews of impressive guests, such as Rebecca Minkoff, Janice Bryant Howroyd, Heather Monahan and Russell Brunson.

These ladies pack actionable tips and takeaways into every episode. There is no fluff and they get right into the topics.

In a world where women often compete with each other and tear each other down, Natalie and Danielle genuinely want to help women succeed and reach for more, or as they say, “A boss babe is unapologetically ambitious and paves the way for herself and other women to rise…”

Ready is a lie.

Angie Lee

Angie has a fun energetic style and you won’t be bored by this business podcast.

7. Unlocking Us and Dare to Lead

Host: Brené Brown

Brené is the mentor, sister, friend and mother that you need in your life.

These two podcasts will make you a better person and a better leader. You won’t learn about sales funnels or email list building, but you will learn more about yourself and people in general.

“Stay awkward kind and brave.”

Brené Brown

Buckle up to hear Brené discuss hard topics like shame, vulnerability, accountability, leadership and FFTs (Brené’s term for f’ing first times).

The guests will blow you away…past guests have included Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Tim Ferris, Dax Shepard, Jim Collins, Dolly Parton, Reese Witherspoon, Glennon Doyle, Abby Wambach, Laverne Cox and so many more.

8. Screw The Nine to Five Podcast

Jill and Josh want to help you quit your job.

Do you work a nine to five job but have dreams of quitting and starting your own business? Or are you a new entrepreneur working on building your business with hopes that you don’t have to go back to your nine to five?

If so, then this podcast is for you!

“Don’t Settle. Screw The Nine To Five.”

Jill and Josh Stanton

What I like best about this podcast is when Jill and Josh share what is working and not working in their business. They are completely transparent about failures and how they learned from them and picked themselves back up.

Update: Jill and Josh no longer record new episodes of Screw the Nine to Five podcast, however past episodes are still valuable. They have new projects and podcasts including The Millionaire Girls Club and Wealthy Course Creator.

9. The Smart Passive Income Podcast

Host: Pat Flynn

Yes, there are male podcast hosts on the list!

Pat Flynn started the Smart Passive Income (SPI) podcast way back in 2010. I didn’t even know what a podcast was back then.

SPI is another of the first podcasts I listened to. I had been a reader of the blog by the same name for years, but started listening to the podcast when I starting commuting hours each day. Pat is massively successful in the online marketing work and shares how you can do the same.

Podcast episodes are a mix of solo shows and interviews and Pat gets some great guests. Former guests on the show include Ramit Sethi, Tim Ferris, Chalene Johnson and Gary V.

Don’t be fooled by the name though, this podcast is not only about passive income. It’s all things online marketing and entrepreneurship that you need. If you were to listen to just one podcast on this list to start and grow an online business, this is it.

10. Social Media Marketing

Host: Michael Stelzner

Michael Stelzer (aka Stelzner) is the CEO of Social Media Examiner which runs the well known annual Social Media Marketing World conference.

This weekly podcast dives into all things social media and brings in the experts for Stelzner to interview on all the latest topics. Jasmine Star, Sue B. Zimmerman, Alex Tooby, Alex Beadon…all the experts are on this show!

Topics include all the latest trends and strategies that you need to know about.

Video, TikTok, Instagram Reels or whatever is the coming up next.

What I enjoy most about this show is that Stelzner asks the exact follow-up questions I’m thinking! It’s like he’s in my head. So many interviewers assume people already know things, but he makes sure to get all the details from his guests so that listeners learn something every week.
